Give your teachers one shared plan for behavior

Research-based strategies, taught and practiced in one day, ready for the next class period.

Why this training

What a management system changes

01

70 to 90%

of low-level, chronic behaviors can be reduced or eliminated with these strategies.

02

More teaching

Less time on discipline means lessons actually get delivered. Academics and discipline rise or fall together.

03

Teachers who stay

Classroom management is the top reason educators leave. Teachers who feel effective are more likely to stay.

Research

"Teachers' actions in their classrooms have twice the impact on student achievement as school policies regarding curriculum, assessment, staff collegiality, and community involvement."

Marzano, R. J. (2003). What Works in Schools. ASCD.
The five components

How the system fits together

The five components below are taught in order, modeled by your trainer, and practiced by every teacher.

Component One

Self-control strategies

Up to 90% of low-level problems can be stopped before they interrupt a lesson. This component teaches the calm, the teaching power position, and the diffuser system that make that possible.

Component Two

Teaching rules and procedures

Clear procedures, taught on purpose, reduce office referrals. Teachers learn to plan and practice routines the same way they plan academic lessons.

Component Three

Responding to challenges

This is the part teachers ask about most: what to do in the moment. The diffuser system, a supportive stance, and five immediate steps for an out-of-control student give them a plan.

Component Four

Classroom ecology and arrangement

Room design is part of classroom management. With the right arrangement, the room supports instruction and many discipline issues never come up.

Component Five

Student-teacher relationships

Relationships can be taught and practiced. Teachers leave with ways to make every student feel seen and to earn the trust of students who resist.

Agenda

A typical training day

In person on your campus, as a full day or a half-day, whenever your calendar allows.

The morning block (8:30 AM to 12:00 PM) starts with mindset and the room: staying calm, designing the classroom environment, the teaching power position, and fifteen desk arrangements. It ends with teaching and enforcing rules and procedures.

After lunch from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, the afternoon block runs until 3:30 PM. It turns to discipline and relationships, including how to reach non-compliant students, the five immediate steps to regain control, and how to stop repeating requests and warnings.
